Der Sound entsteht durch ein internationales Ensemble aus Vibraphon, Gesang, Keyboards, Bass, Schlagzeug und Percussion und bewegt sich an der Schnittstelle von Modern Jazz, Afrobeat und Fusion. Gegründet vom Vibraphonisten und Komponisten Khadim Ndome, verkörpert Jaliya eine Jazzästhetik, die nicht nur in afrikanischen Traditionen verwurzelt ist, sondern zugleich einen Blick in die Zukunft des globalen Jazz wirft: innovativ, vernetzt und stilübergreifend.
Jaliya is a contemporary Afro-fusion band that blends the rhythmic diversity of West Africa with modern jazz harmonies, improvisation and subtle electronic elements. The sound is created by an international ensemble featuring vibraphone, vocals, keyboards, bass, drums and percussion, and sits at the intersection of modern jazz, Afrobeat and fusion. Founded by vibraphonist and composer Khadim Ndome, Jaliya embodies a jazz aesthetic that is not only rooted in African traditions but also looks to the future of global jazz: innovative, interconnected and cross-genre.
