Drei Musiker-Koryphäen aus Benin und Burkina Faso treffen sich im Schmelztiegel Berlin. Sie kombinieren ihre westafrikanischen Wurzeln mit Afrobeat, Salsa, Funk, Blues und Jazz. Die entstehende feurige Tanzmusik mit einer Prise Desert Blues taufen sie augenzwinkernd "Afrikadelle". Gesungen wird in Yorouba, Fon, Dioula, Französisch und Deutsch, mit durchdringender Power-Stimme von Moussa Coulibaly - die auch ohne Autotunes auskommt - changierend mit den sanften Stimmen von Arcadius Didavi und Tunde Alibaba. Die rhythmisch pulsierenden Melodieinstrumente Balafon, Ngoni und Tanikka mit Kalebassen als akustischen Klangkörpern werden mit Bassgitarre, Perkussion und Drums zu funkigen Balladen arrangiert. Das Trio wird begleitet von der Jazztrumpeter Donath Kubrinski aus Polen. Ein virtuoses Ensemble voller Elan, Witz und genialer Musikalität!
Three musical luminaries from Benin and Burkina Faso meet in the melting pot of Berlin. They combine their West African roots with Afrobeat, salsa, funk, blues and jazz. They tongue-in-cheekily call the resulting fiery dance music with a pinch of desert blues ‘Afrikadelle’. They sing in Yoruba, Fon, Dioula, French and German, with the penetrating power voice of Moussa Coulibaly – who doesn't need autotune – alternating with the gentle voices of Arcadius Didavi and Tunde Alibaba. The rhythmically pulsating melodic instruments balafon, ngoni and tanikka with calabashes as acoustic sound bodies are arranged with bass guitar, percussion and drums to create funky ballads. The trio is accompanied by jazz trumpeter Donath Kubrinski from Poland. A virtuoso ensemble full of verve, wit and ingenious musicality!
