Mit ihrem neuen Album HOPE (realisiert dank der Unterstützung des Berliner Senats) stellt die Schlagzeugerin und Komponistin Lucía Martínez ihr außergewöhnliches Sextett vor. Die Musik von The Fearless klingt wie ein Western, den es nie gegeben hat: Ennio Morricone trifft auf Tarantino, Sergio Leone auf John Wayne – und doch ist es Jazz, wild, elektroakustisch und voller Energie. Ein klappriges Motorrad, sechs Cowboys im Smoking und ein Cowgirl an den Zügeln führen durch eine klangliche Landschaft zwischen Italo-Western, amerikanischem Kernland und europäischer Avantgarde.
With her new album HOPE (made possible thanks to the support of the Berlin Senate), drummer and composer Lucía Martínez presents her extraordinary sextet. The music of The Fearless sounds like a Western that never existed: Ennio Morricone meets Tarantino, Sergio Leone meets John Wayne – and yet it is jazz, wild, electroacoustic and full of energy. A rickety motorbike, six cowboys in tuxedos and a cowgirl at the reins lead us through a sonic landscape between Italo-Western, American heartland and European avant-garde.
