Natürlich mit Musik! DENIM mixt Afrobeats mit Realismus und erzählt Geschichten über alles, was Menschen so bewegt: Liebe, Herzschmerz, Krieg, Träume – und das Abenteuer, Mensch zu sein.
DENIM is more than a band – it is a planet, born in Berlin, where music becomes story. David Millán, Pelle Buschmann, and Emily Intsiful form the core of the Berlin-based collective. At its center is producer, singer, and songwriter Emily Intsiful: for five years she was a backing vocalist for Nena, moved a wide audience in the quarterfinals of The Voice of Germany, and is currently deepening her artistic practice at the Jazz Institute Berlin. In February 2026, she performed twice in the German Bundestag at the state memorial service for Dr. Rita Süssmuth. Drawing from her Ghanaian and Liberian roots, Emily brings the colors that shape DENIM’s sonic universe – an interwoven fabric of Afrobeats, Afrofuturism, and oral storytelling traditions. Here, love and pain, resistance and hope, dream and reality merge into a sound that feels both unfamiliar and deeply known: an invitation to step into the garden of humanity.
