Sir Bradley ist eine queerfeministische Band, die Jazz liebt, ihn aber anders spielt. Sie bezeichnen ihre Musik als FinalStraightJazz. Ihr hochgradig spannungsgeladener wie feinsinniger Sound setzt sich aus einer wilden Mischung aus Modern Jazz, Free, Avantgarde und Indiepop zusammen. Sir Bradley fährt außerdem einfach so einige Stereotype mal eben vor die Wand. Ageism? Zwischen dem jüngsten und ältesten Bandmitglied liegen 40 Jahre. In einer feministischen Band kann kein Mann spielen? Aber so was von. Die Welt ist binär? Nicht in dieser Band. Jazz ist nur was zum Zuhören? Nicht mit dieser Band. Sir Bradleys FinalStraightJazz ist hochemotional und hochpolitisch. In den höchst einfallsreichen Kompositionen steigt alles auf: Erinnerungen und Fantasien, Rausch und Melancholie, verlorene Lieben und entfesselte Wut. Sir Bradley lässt all diese Zustände und Stimmungen vibrieren. Pulsierend und fordernd, mit Reibung und Drive. Sir Bradley is a queer-feminist band that loves jazz but plays it differently. They describe their music as ‘FinalStraightJazz’. Their sound, which is both highly charged and nuanced, consists of a wild mix of modern jazz, free jazz, avant-garde and indie pop. Sir Bradley also smashes quite a few stereotypes to smithereens. Ageism? There’s a 40-year age gap between the youngest and oldest band members. Can’t a man play in a feminist band? Absolutely he can. Is the world binary? Not in this band. Is jazz just something to listen to? Not with this band. Sir Bradley’s FinalStraightJazz is highly emotional and highly political. In their highly imaginative compositions, everything comes to the fore: memories and fantasies, euphoria and melancholy, lost loves and unbridled rage. Sir Bradley makes all these states and moods vibrate. Pulsating and demanding, with friction and drive.
